System check and licence

System check

System check looks at your installation and reports each item as green, yellow or red. It changes nothing; it only tells you what to fix.

• Database: missing tables or columns.
• Seed data: lists that should not be empty, such as statuses and countries.
• Files and folders: paths the system needs to write to.
• PHP: missing extensions and settings.
• Security: settings such as session cookies and form protection.
• Licence: whether a valid licence is installed.

Green items are fine. Yellow items are worth fixing soon. Red items need fixing before the system will work properly; the page explains what to do with each.

Applying an update

After you upload an IPBases update, Owners and Administrators see a Database update required banner on the dashboard. Press Apply now to run the database changes that come with the update. The update notes tell you anything else to check.

Your licence

The License page shows your licence: status, licence ID, customer, tier, type, the domains it allows, the current host and when it was installed. The expiry shows as Perpetual: the licence is a one-time purchase with no renewals.

The licence is signed and tied to your domain, and it is checked on your own server. IPBases does not contact anyone to verify it.

Without a valid licence

If no valid licence is installed, the system becomes read-only: everyone can still sign in and see everything, but nothing can be created or edited until a valid key is pasted on the License page. No data is ever deleted.

Moving to a new domain

A licence works on the domain it was issued for. To move IPBases to a new domain, clear the stored key on the License page and ask IPBases to re-issue the licence for the new domain. If you lose your key, contact IPBases with your licence ID and the same key is sent again.

How it connects

This part of IPBases takes information from the parts on the left and changes what appears in the parts on the right. When you change one of them, check the other.
